Everyone deserves a place to call home. The Housing and Shelter Services program at
Community Services for the Developmentally Disabled seeks temporary and long-term housing options for individuals with developmental disabilities. Individual Residential Alternatives
(IRAs) are residential houses that become "home" to individuals with developmental disabilities. Depending on the needs of the residents, the
houses are staffed either full-time or part-time. Some of our IRAs feature individual apartments for
each resident, while others feature a "community living" arrangement. Each house is purchased and
designed with the residents' input, including neighborhood selection, desired furniture and color schemes. For more information call 877-1111, ext. 24.
Community Services operates two
Emergency Shelters, and a transitional IRA, specifically for individuals with developmental disabilities facing homelessness. The Emergency Shelters are also
available to provide emergency respite services for caregivers. For more information call 877-1111, ext. 42.
Project S.A.F.E.
(Shelter And Assistance in Family Emergencies) provides confidential shelter and counseling for survivors of family violence. Families receive the safety and support they need at the
Safe House, while receiving valuable support and guidance from staff. For more information call 877-1111, ext. 38.
Rental Housing
is available to both disabled and non-disabled individuals through Community Services for the Developmentally Disabled. For more information, call Building and Property
Management at 447-9999, ext. 110.
