Day Habilitation Programs are available through Community Services. Day habilitation programs give individuals with developmental disabilities an opportunity to participate in structured activities throughout the day, which are designed to teach life skills and provide recreational opportunities.

    The Senior Day Habilitation program provides senior citizens with the opportunity to participate in their local Senior Center, while having the support of a staff person on site to assist with challenging tasks and social skills development. For more information call 883-8888, ext. 162.

    The Genesee Day Habilitation and Abbott Road Day Habilitation programs offer meaningful day activities five days a week. Program participants enjoy recreational activities, volunteering, and crafts. Staff provide daily living skills instruction.

Recreation and Leisure Services gives individuals an opportunity to pursue a hobby or participate in recreational activities, while also interacting with their peers and their community. The goal of the Leisure Education Program is to help individuals learn how to plan their "leisure lifestyle". One-to-one leisure education is available, as well as Leisure Education Groups, which are made up of six to eight individuals. For more information call 883-8888, ext. 123.

Stay Late It's Great is an after-school care program for children attending Public School #84. The children who participate in Stay Late are some of the most severely disabled children in Western New York. For more information call 883-8888, ext. 144.

Continuing Education and Independent Living Skills are a series of classes offered on a regular basis by Community Services. Classes are designed to teach important skills, as well as provide practical information that will lead individuals to achieve greater independence. Past classes have included Cooking, Computer Basics, Voting, and Driver Permit Class.
